Exodus 14:13 NKJV And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.
Exodus 14:13 DRB And Moses said to the people: Fear not: stand, and see the great wonders of the Lord, which he will do this day; for the Egyptians, whom you see now, you shall see no more for ever.
Have you’ve ever felt like circumstances are closing in on you, you’ve been backed up into a corner, and there seems to be no way out? If so, then I’m sure you could certainly identify with how the Children of Israel felt as they realized they were being pursued by Pharaoh’s army and were backed up against the Red Sea. Scripture tells us they were greatly afraid and began to cry out to the Lord (Exodus 14:10). Moses then speaks the command, “Fear not: stand, and see the great wonders of the Lord, which he will do this day…”
When there seems to be no solution or help in sight… God can bring the answer to light. It sound cliché, but it is true nonetheless.
Matthew 19:26 NKJV But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Mark 14:36 NKJV And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You…”
All things are possible for God. We need to remember that. Fear Not. As long as you are in fear you won’t be in faith. Moses commanded the people to stop fearing. He did this by giving them something else to look forward to. Get your eyes and thoughts off the circumstance. Instead of looking at the natural and the potential outcome of the situation, look to God and have faith in His Word. Moses told them stand, and see the great wonders of the Lord, which he will do this day.
When you feel backed against the wall and circumstances are closing in on you. Fear Not! Stand still… That doesn’t mean don’t move. But instead take up an unmovable position of trusting the Lord. Take your eyes off the circumstance and place them on God’s unfailing Word. Then look and listen for the answer. God will bring about a glorious solution, but it may involve your cooperation. In verse 16 of Exodus 14, God told Moses the plan to deliver them from their impending disaster. Moses had to be listening and then obey the Word of the Lord before the solution to their problem was seen. Even then, the people had to trust in God’s unfailing love and His Word and walk across the dry land, while the waters were divided.
When your back is against the wall… Fear Not! Stand still; and see the great wonders He will accomplish for you today.
