Fear Not: The Enemy is Running Scared

Deuteronomy 2:25 NKJV  This day I will begin to put the dread and fear of you upon the nations under the whole heaven,
who shall hear the report of you, and shall tremble and be in anguish because of you.’

Just as reports of the strength, the numbers, and the power of God’s presence being with the Israelites spread throughout the region in Deuteronomy 2:25, the truth of your strength, numbers, and power in Christ is known by your enemy today.  When the Israelites sent spies into Jericho, word was reported to them, “… that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you. (Joshua 2:9)You see the exploits of God do not go unnoticed by the enemy.  God’s people may take for granted His amazing blessings and faithful deliverance, but the enemy is painfully aware of every work of His hands.

The devil is afraid of you.  Let me rephrase that… the devil should be afraid of you.  If you are a child of God, then the very Spirit of the living God dwells in you.  He is for you and not against you (Romans 8:31).  He defeated the devil (Colossians 2:15) and has caused us to sit with Him in His victory (Ephesians 2:6) giving us the power to tread upon the enemy (Psalm 91:13, Luke 10:19 Ephesians 1:22-23).  The devil isn’t afraid of all Christians, but the devil should be afraid of all Christians because we all have been given the same authority over the enemy by Christ’s great victory.

Romans 8:37 NKJV  Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

You are more than a conqueror through Him.  Jesus has given us His great victory to share in with Him.  Just as we share in the life of Christ we share in the victory of Christ too.  The devil isn’t afraid of all Christians, because many are unaware of the authority they have been given.  Many don’t know of their position in Christ and that they share that victory with Him.  They don’t know that all the authority of Heaven is backing them up and all they have to do is walk forward in that authority and the devil will tremble scamper away at the sound of their voice (James 4:7 MSG).

James 4:7 NKJV  Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

When Jesus defeated the devil at Calvary and rose from the dead, great terror came upon the enemy.  The enemy is defeated and still dreads God today.  God has adopted you into His family (Romans 8:15) and made you joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17).  So don’t fear the devil.  So Fear Not!  Stand up, follow God and the Devil will flee from you.
