Fear Not: God Is the One Fighting For You

Deuteronomy 3:22 KJV  Ye shall not fear them: for the LORD your God he shall fight for you.

Deuteronomy 3:22 NKJV You must not fear them, for the LORD your God Himself fights for you.

Deuteronomy 3:22 MSG  Don’t be afraid of them. GOD, your God, –he’s fighting for you.”

Deuteronomy 3:22 NASB  Do not fear them, for the LORD your God is the one fighting for you.

How powerful is that thought.  God is fighting for you.  God, Himself is fighting for you.  Glory to God, you don’t have to fear because God is fighting for you and God doesn’t lose.  You don’t have to worry.  You don’t have to fret.  God’s gonna win and that’s a sure bet!

When I was a kid, from time to time they would show old cartoons of Mighty Mouse.  This thought is probably lost on many people today but you can check out some old footage of Mighty Mouse by looking him up on Google or YouTube.  Anyway, whenever a cry of the helpless would reach Mighty Mouse, he would jump into action and begin to fly to their side.  The theme song would kick in and you’d hear, “Here I come to save the day.  Mighty Mouse is on his way…”  Then he would promptly and soundly defeat the foe and rescue the victim.  Well, when I read these verses I can’t help but picture God right there soundly and promptly defeating the enemy.

There is nothing to fear.  God isn’t just sitting on the sidelines and watching you battle through circumstances and the attacks of the enemy.  No, He, Himself is in front of you fighting for you.  Better than that, He, Himself has now already fought for us and won.  The battle you are going through has been fought, the victory wrought, and the devil’s plans brought to nought.

Whenever you find yourself in a fight of faith, remember that God has fought for you and already won.  If you’re a born-again child of God, He’s with you and in you by His Spirit and is working to get you to stand in the victory that He’s already accomplished.  So, FEAR NOT.  God has  ought for you and won, and He is fighting for you to walk in all he has done.
