Deuteronomy 20:3-4 MSG He’ll say, “Attention, Israel. In a few minutes you’re going to do battle with your enemies. Don’t waver in resolve. Don’t fear. Don’t hesitate. Don’t panic. (4) GOD, your God, is right there with you, fighting with you against your enemies, fighting to win.”
God is on your team. God is on your side. No matter what situation you may be facing, “…God, your God, is right there with you, fighting with you against your enemies, fighting to win.” Praise God, that is a good word. But wait! It gets even better.
Through the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus we have already been given the victory. Furthermore, through the New Birth, God, the Holy Spirit comes to live in us. Better than just being right there with you in your situation, He is right there in you. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). But you said, “…we have already been given the victory.”? Yes, that is true. Jesus conquered the enemy and won the victory (Colossians 2:15), but that doesn’t mean the enemy won’t try to encroach upon that truth. The enemy is bent on one purpose to steal,
kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and circumstances will rise up to try to back you off of the victory that has been given to you. Like a bully, bills, sicknesses, people, etc… will try to back you off of what God has said about you and what He has done for you. But, FEAR NOT! God is with you and God is in you and He desires to fight along with you against the attack.
Romans 8:26-27 NKJV Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (27) Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Romans 8:26 tells us that when we pray in the Spirit, the Holy Spirit helps us pray God’s will by giving us the words we need to perfectly pray for
the situation. Then in verse 27 where it says, “He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God,” the Greek phrase could literally be translated that He confers with and takes a hold with us in prayer. One way you can stand your ground and fight against fear and any attack that comes your way is to pray in the Spirit and when you do, God the Holy Spirit will fight with you against the attack. So spend some time praying in the Spirit today, no matter what is going on God will fight with you against the fear and circumstance trying to rob you of the victory Christ won for you at Calvary. Pray in the Spirit and FEAR NOT!
