Deuteronomy 31:6-8 NKJV Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” (7) Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall cause them to inherit it. (8) And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
Praise God. We CAN be strong and of good courage. We do NOT have to fear. Because the Lord, He is the One who goes before us. He IS with us. He will NOT leave us nor forsake us. The Lord is with you, do not fear.
Sometimes it seems like we are all alone in life. It feels like we have been abandoned by those around us and everyone and everything is against us. The Word tells us otherwise. In Deuteronomy 31 Moses told the Children of Israel and His protégé Joseph that the Lord would be with them and has already gone before them and prepared their victory and inheritance. Well that may be, but how can God know what I’m really going through. God can’t understand the pressure and the stress I’m under. God took that argument away the day Jesus was born.
Hebrews 4:15 NLT This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for He faced all of the same testings we do, yet He did not sin.
God knows exactly how it feels to be rejected by men. And to be abandoned by those you love. He knows physical pain, emotional hurt, and the devastating effects of disease personally. He knows the physical exhaustion after a full day of working with your hands and standing on your feet as carpenter. He knows the stresses and difficulties of being a teacher and leader of people. He knows your fears and your pains for He personally endured them all. How much greater is our assurance of His presence in our lives.
We have a great High Priest, Jesus, who knows and understands what you are going through. And He endured it all so you would not have to. He endured it all so you could look to Him and know that He indeed has gone before you and shall cause you to inherit all of the Father’s glorious promises. You are not alone. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He understands what you’re going through. He is right there with you. He will see you through into His victory, so FEAR NOT!
