199. Conspiracy Theories

Isaiah 8:12 NKJV “Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’ Concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.

Isaiah 8:12 NLT “Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them.

Conspiracy theories are not a modern invention. Since the beginning of fear and doubt, which lead to suspicion, came on the scene at the fall of man, conspiracy theories have formed. Today they run rampant on television, in books, and especially on the internet. The world and the church are full of them, yet we are not to be troubled or become fearful by them.

The intrigue about covert schemes and cover ups, whether true or false shouldn’t dictate how the Body of Christ lives and operates in the world. I know a few Christians that have been tormented by various conspiracies, but that isn’t His will. No matter what they are or even how true they may be we do not have to fear.

Verse 14 tells us that our Holy abode is in Him. He is our hiding place and our protection. He is our sanctuary of peace from the storms of life. The Message Bible says to some He will be a hiding place and to others He is a rock standing in the way, a barbed wire fence of protection around His people. Glory!

For us that means we don’t need to get wrapped up in all the conspiracies and we certainly shouldn’t fear them. Even if they are all true and everyone is out to get you, which in some cases may be absolutely true, you DO NOT HAVE TO FEAR! Fear Not, you are protected by the Rock. Maintain your dwelling in Him. Keep your confidence in Him; He is a barbed wire fence around you. Don’t allow conspiracies to rattle your faith. Let God be God and ever resolve to rest in Him. Fear Not!
