206. Tell Others

Isaiah 12:2-6 NLT See, God has come to save me. I will trust in Him and not be afraid. The LORD GOD is my strength and my song; He has given me victory.” (3) With joy you will drink deeply from the fountain of salvation! (4) In that wonderful day you will sing: “Thank the LORD! Praise His name! Tell the nations what He has done. Let them know how mighty He is! (5) Sing to the LORD, for He has done wonderful things. Make known His praise around the world. (6) Let all the people of Jerusalem shout His praise with joy! For great is the Holy One of Israel who lives among you.”

You can’t keep what you aren’t willing to give away. In the last post 205. Drinks Are on Him, I quoted Virgil Stokes from his book 7 Principles of Recovery, “The alternative to God-reliance is self-reliance.” We were talking about developing trust in Him. Today we are looking at keeping that trust in Him so we can walk fearlessly. This requires us to share our trust in Him with others.

The prophet Isaiah says the fearless will sing praises to His name and share with others the things He has done for us, letting them know how mighty and wonderful He is. One of the keys to walking in victory from any oppression is to share the reality of that victory with others. I want to quote another section in Stokes’ book 7 Principles of Recovery here. “There is a great secret which is key to understanding life in the Spirit: You can’t keep what you don’t give away. Giving and receiving is the rhythm of the Kingdom of God. When we grasp this principle and begin to apply it in every area of our lives, we soon see wonderful results.” These results include walking in ongoing fearless confidence in Him.

So go shout His praise with joy today. Tell someone what the Lord has done for you. Sing your praises to Him and share the reality of His amazing grace. Proclaim your confidence in Him and Fear Not!
