Exodus 3:10-12 NKJV Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” (11) But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” (12) So He said, “I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”
Nobody wants to fail. We all want to succeed. Yet sometimes we don’t feel prepared, equipped, or competent to carry out the task before us. This can cause us to experience Atychiphobia, the fear failure.
When God told Moses He was sending him to deliver Israel from Egypt, Moses response was “ME? Why me? What makes you think that I could ever go to Pharaoh and lead the children of Israel out of Egypt?” Moses feared failure and saw himself as incompetent to carry out the job before him to do. This fear is further exposed in Exodus 4:10-13 when Moses tells the Lord he can’t do it because he isn’t eloquent enough in speech and begs God to send someone else to speak to Pharaoh and the Children of Israel.
But when Moses began to fear failing as he thought on his inadequacies, the Father God responded, “I will certainly be with you…” This is a powerful phrase. There is no greater guarantee of success than when the Lord tells you He will be with you.
No matter how clever, skillful or talented one might be, there is no guarantee that they will succeed. There are 100’s of young men and women just as talented and good as many of the professional athletes in their respective fields, yet they didn’t make it to that level. There have been thousands of people with good ideas that never saw the light of day. Not because they were not clever, but because those things alone do not amount to success. There are other mitigating factors involved.
However, when the Lord tells you He will be with you in a task or situation you have His guarantee of success if you’ll just listen to Him and follow His plan. The Word of the Lord and the presence of God is your guarantee. Thank God, He has promised us that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). That means you have the His guarantee that you will be succeed at anything He asks you to do. Your part is to listen to and follow His Word and obey the promptings of the Holy Ghost. Don’t fear failure, the Father is with you, follow His Word and you will succeed.
