221. Who Is YOUR God?

Isaiah 41:10 NKJV Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Isaiah 41:10 GNB Do not be afraid—I am with you! I am your God—let nothing terrify you! I will make you strong and help you; I will protect you and save you.

“Don’t be afraid, I am with you!” Wow. It doesn’t get much plainer than that. This verse was written to the Jews during their Babylonian captivity. It was a great comfort and reminder to them that they could remain fearless, regardless of their circumstance because God was with them, for them, and faithful.

This verse is still full of comfort today as we remember that God is with us. His very presence is reason enough for us to stand fearless despite any circumstances of life. Still God gives us more assurance with His next statement.

“I am your God.” Not only is God with you, He’s also for you. We don’t have to give in to panic but can remain calm, because the God of heaven has promised to strengthen us and help us in time of worry.

He will “uphold you with My (His) righteous right hand”. His righteous right hand speaks of His faithfulness. We can depend on and rely on our Heavenly Father. He is faithful and will enable you to stand despite the doctor’s report you receive or fearful circumstance that you may be facing.

Our Heavenly Father is totally dependable. He is the faithful God (Deut 7:9, 2Cor 1:18). He is with you and He is for you. This was why the Israelites needn’t fear their captivity and this is why we don’t have to fear today. Because God is with us, for us, and faithful. But wait, there is more!

We have an even greater assurance and reason to live fearlessly today. Not only is He with us, for us, & faithful, He is also living in us. If you’ve made Jesus the Lord of your life then the same God that brought light into darkness and conquered death is living in you (John 14:17,20, John 15:4, John 17:21). The faithful God, who is with you and for you, now lives in you by His Spirit, through the new birth. This is the ultimate truth in providing us consolation, comfort, and courage no matter what we may ever face in life. The fearless God ever lives in you and will never leave you (Hebrews 13:5). Draw on His ever present strength. Allow Him to help and comfort you and nothing will be able to terrify you today. Fear Not!
