222. He’s Holding Your Hand

Isaiah 41:10 NKJV Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Isaiah 41:13-14 NKJV For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’ (14) “Fear not, you worm Jacob, You men of Israel! I will help you,” says the LORD And your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

When our children first begin to stand and take their first steps it is an exciting and horrifying time in the life of a parent. We are overjoyed to see them growing, learning, and experiencing new things. But we are also squint and grimace as they fall forward on their hands or plop back down on their bottoms. Thankfully, the Lord knew what He was doing in making babies small so they aren’t very far from the ground when they fall.

As parents we want them to succeed and don’t want to see them get hurt, so we take them by the hand and provide stability and support. We uphold them with our hand, sending a comforting message to them that we are there to help. That is exactly what our Heavenly Father does for us.

The Lord holds the hand of His people and teaches us to walk by faith. He stabilizes us and holds us up when we lose our balance. He keeps us from falling. Hand in hand, our Heavenly Father leads us around obstacles that we might stumble over or fall into like the corners of a coffee table or harmful relationships. Hand in hand, He communes with us and leads us deeper into the Word, His presence, strengthening us to walk by faith on our own. But He doesn’t stop there.

He never leaves us or forsakes us. Even after we are strong enough to walk on our own He is still right there to grab our hand and balance us should we misstep, trip and start to fall. You’ve got nothing to fear your Heavenly Father is always near and His mighty hand is extended to you to teach you, lead you, and give you stability and support so you can fearlessly take on any obstacle in your way.
