258. When the Haters Hate

Posted by John Smith on November 27, 2015

Lamentations 3:46-50 NLT  “All our enemies have spoken out against us. (47) We are filled with fear, for we are trapped, devastated, and ruined.” (48) Tears stream from my eyes because of the destruction of my people! (49) My tears flow endlessly; they will not stop (50) until the LORD looks down from heaven and sees.

Lamentations 3:55-57 NLT But I called on Your name, LORD, from deep within the pit. (56) You heard me when I cried, “Listen to my pleading! Hear my cry for help!” (57) Yes, You came when I called; You told me, “Do not fear.”

We’ve all had one of the moments, days, or seasons where it seems like everybody is against you and their not afraid to tell you about it. Hopefully, they are not out to utterly destroy you like those speaking against the Israelites but you get the idea. I like the way the Bible in Basic English translates Lamentations 3:46 it says, The mouths of all our haters are open wide against us.”

When all our haters are hating on us through gossip, social media, or even to our face it hurts. It is easy to being to lament, cry, and fear our situation. But you don’t have to. Instead you can cry out to the Lord.

When haters start hating, call out to God. Boldly go before the throne of Grace (Heb 4:16). Get in His presence and stay there until His peace settles in your heart and you hear the Spirit say, “Fear Not.” God always hears you when you pray and He’s with you to strengthen you day by day. Involve the Father in every situation you face, follow His lead, and listen to His voice. Then no matter what you are facing, no matter what the haters say, you’ll know exactly what to do and be you’ll be confident because you’ll hear the voice of the Spirit saying, “Do Not Fear.”
